I've never really celebrated Father's Day (#daddyissues)

but this year everything changed

The last 3 months I've got to witness what a true Father looks like

something I've never experienced or witnessed before

A father is loving. Patient. Kind. Giving.

He's a leader. Provider. A safety net.

All of these amazing things, wrapped up in the form of a best friend for life.

Today I want to celebrate the light of my life, Jo-Rémi S.

aka: Micah's Father

Micah has only been here for 3 months, yet Jo has already taught Micah so so many things

How to smile, how to sing, the joy of play, patience, the beauty of nature - the list could go on and on

and best believe when Jo walks into the room singing 'bonjouuuur' - Micah's laugh fills the entire room

I think the only way I can describe it, is that Jo is the net of our family

When we need a shoulder to cry on, some wise advice, someone to yank us out of a mental spiral, someone to teach us true play and creativity

Jo is there, catching us

I couldn't be happier that my son and family has Jo at the forefront, guiding us in this crazy life

and I count myself the most blessed woman alive to experience the impact he has not just on our family, but all those around him

(we can't even go to a coffee shop without the whole vicinity laughing and uplifted by the time we leave)

He makes life feel lighter. Free. Unserious

But also safe. Secure. Loving

He's the most amazing father, husband, and best friend I could have ever asked for

and I praise God every day for bringing him into our life
