I burnt out chasing 7 figs at 23

(whilst everyone clapped lmao)

LinkedIn made me feel like a FAILURE for taking Sundays off.

'I posting 5 times a week!' 'He just launched his 4th startup!' 'They're already at £2M ARR!'

the constant chase for 'success' was REAL

working literal 80 hr weeks thinking happiness was waiting at the next rev goal 💀

spoiler alert: it wasn't

NOW

I don't speak about my Biochemistry degree much on here

(but yes, I'm a qualified Biochemist 🧬)

I got digging, and strap in because I'm gonna speak in nerd for a bit:

DMN = Default Mode Network (in your brain) DMN = NEEDED for our creativity, long-term planning, self-reflection, idea generation = essentially, we RELY on our DMN as entrepreneurs

and the punchline...

THE DMN IS ONLY ACTIVE WHEN YOU'RE NOT BUSY

= SCIENTIFICALLY, YOU ARE A BETTER ENTREPRENEUR IF YOU REST MORE

(sorry for shouting, but I'm screaming it at my laptop rn hehe)

Most people reading this are GASPING for a breakthrough in their business right now

but that's because you're chasing other people's success

no wonder we're all perfectionist mindset prisoners: - constant feed of what we 'should' be doing - less and less people showing real life - 532 new 'productivity apps' being launched every day

(or maybe you're in escapist mode: binge watching Selling Sunset, retail therapy, always brainstorming instead of doing)

a few months ago I switched to full rest mode

no socials on my phone working 2-5 hours a day practiced the art of being bored

my DMN = more active than ever before

and guys I've had more breakthroughs in the last few months than I had of 5 years in business

Post inspired by a video from Anne-Laure Le Cunff, PhD - will link it below x
